Synopsis:

"Promises
of A Man of Pau" is a heartfelt comedy, where politics is everything
except common, when the decision of the presidential race is for the
citizen more banal. Bud Johnson (Kevin Costner) is a lovely bankrupt
moved to beer that has dragged for life, whose only strength is Molly
(Madeline Carroll), a precocious daughter and jealous, of twelve years.
She takes care of both, until an unusual moment, on election day, she
accidentally triggered a series of events that culminate in the outcome
of the election by one vote ... to his father. The film is a comic
vision of the journey of a father and a daughter who discover that
everyone has the power to change the world. Also in the cast are Kelsey
Grammar as the Republican President Andrew Boone and Dennis Hopper as
the Democratic hopeful Donald Greenleaf. Nathan Lane portrays Art
Crumb, the manager of the campaign of Democratic Greenleaf, who lost
seven elections, and Stanley Tucci plays Martin Fox, the ingenious
manager of the Republican presidential campaign. Paula Patton is in the
role of journalist Kate Madison, who works in a small-town station and
aspires a job at a large communications network, and George Lopez is
his boss, John Sweeney, who "has seen everything," and manages the
station, Texico of local TV in New Mexico.
